Contra Costa Countywide Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan
PUBLIC INPUT FOR DRAFT SOUGHT

On June 3, 2009, the Contra Costa Transportation Authority released a draft update of the Contra Costa Countywide Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan. This important document will be used to guide the development of facilities and programs that make bicycling and walking in Contra Costa safer and more enjoyable. The draft plan assesses the needs of bicyclists and pedestrians in Contra Costa, establishes a countywide bicycle network, and identifies a set of improvements and implementation strategies that will encourage more people to walk and bicycle.

To hear public comments on the draft plan, the Authority is holding a set of public workshops on the draft plan at the following dates and locations:

Each workshop will start at 7 p.m. and end at around 9 p.m.

Members of the public can also submit comments directly to the Authority by phone, mail or email. Comments and questions should be directed to Brad Beck, Senior Transportation Planner, at (925) 256-4726 or bbeck@ccta.net. The mailing address is 3478 Buskirk Avenue, Suite 100, Pleasant Hill CA, 94523.

Comments are due to the Authority by July 10. The Authority will then work with its advisory committee of local citizens and staff and its consultants, Fehr and Peers Associates and Eisen, Letunic, to develop the final Countywide Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan. The final plan is scheduled for adoption in September.
